Filiz was born in Istanbul and moved to London as a child. She studied architecture at the University of Westminster, graduating with a first class honours degree, and completed her Part 2 at London Metropolitan University in the Architecture of Rapid Change and Scarce Resources Unit. In her final year, Filiz designed a large piece of street furniture that was one of eight pieces produced for the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of the GLA-funded ‘City Dressing’ project.
Filiz had been a pupil at Regent High School and found out about Walters & Cohen through our project there. She joined the office in July 2013 and has worked on several projects, including making intricate study models for St Paul’s School and the Buddhist retreat. She is currently working on St Paul's School.
