Celebrating Science at King's
Last weekend we returned to the King's School in Canterbury for the opening of the Rausing Science Centre.
Clad in knapped and snapped flint, the building is a contemporary addition to the Canterbury Cathedral Precincts yet knits in seamlessly with its historic neighbours. This was a complex project, and we enjoyed celebrating its completion with the wonderful client team and design team. We were also pleased to catch up with former colleagues Anna Marrion and Ulrike Kurth, who worked on the early stages of the project and came all the way from Wiltshire and Germany.
It was fantastic to see the science classrooms in use; staff told us they love the new and refurbished spaces, and students enthusiastically explained their experiments to us. Whether we understood is another matter.
