Warm Dinners at Pembroke College
Since 1848, the Grade II listed dining hall at Pembroke in Oxford has welcomed thousands of guests, but some must have cursed the draught that came through the (rarely closed) heavy timber doors. We’ve solved the problem with a self-opening glazed entrance door that discreetly keeps the chill at bay without impinging on the charm or integrity of the Victorian stonework. This small intervention helps increase the thermal comfort and energy efficiency of the dining hall, the second biggest fuel consumer in Pembroke’s estate, not to mention keeping diners and dinners warmer for longer.
