Work Experience 2023 - The Debrief
Last week, 18 sixth form students from schools and colleges across the UK joined us for our annual work experience design week. We toured King’s Cross and Granary Square, introduced them to our practice, sustainability and what to know if you want to become an architect. They all chose a brief to design a pavilion for the week and were mentored by Hannah, Callum, Kieran, Izzy, Alice, Tom, Ariana and Jola.
They were brilliant!
Friday’s presentations can be a little nerve-wracking for them, but it’s a joy to see all the different ideas they come up with and the variety of ways they present them. We’re proud of all the work they put in, and delighted to hear how much they learnt. Thanks especially to the students who made the journey from Ipswich, Hereford and Northwich - we hope it was worth it!
“My highlight of the week was seeing how creative other students' ideas were… I also enjoyed learning about what being an architect is like and being able to produce my ideas and other people appreciating and celebrating it. … I loved everyone’s energy and kindness.”
